Setting this up now in case I do anything more in the future…

Please provide feedback below after you receive your package, thank you!
I was able to attend my first V6 concert with my friend beach_bum1303! We went to the 12:30 show on October 10th at Yokohama Arena:

Only got there around 11:00 or so, but most of the fans already had their goods at that point so there was barely a line to speak of and I was able to get through quickly.

Also bought all 3 versions of the single & got the extras that came with them and made my way to the panel to post my message sticker ~ most of the area closest to the members was already covered, but I got a reasonably good spot nearish to Sakamoto. :D

After purchasing goods and sticking my message up on the board we hung out with bunny_d_kate until doors opened, since our seats were in different areas.

Once the doors opened we got in and to our seats quickly and took in our surroundings and watched as the venue filled (while listening to V6 music playing over the speakers~).

blue – stage
green – band
all shades of gray – audience seating
purple – our seats
yellow – Nino

I was on the end of the row (and the hallway right next to me was one of the ones they used all throughout the concert to run from one part of the stage to another, so it was neat to get to see a bit of the behind-the-scenes in that regard).
Two ladies sitting to the right of beachbum were big Okada fans. They noticed she had out (my) Inocchi uchiwa and asked if she was a fan… she responded that she’s kind of a fan, which confused them which led to an explanation that Arashi is her favorite group, but she was there with me and that I was a big V6 fan. We talked with them off and on in an awkward (but quite friendly) combination of broken Japanese and English while waiting for the concert to start. They asked where we were from and were impressed that we’d come from the USA and even had homemade uchiwa. At one point one of them pointed to Inocchi’s face on his uchiwa and said “Very…. Japanese face.” and then they started admiring Okada’s on his uchiwa. XD;

As it hit concert time, penlights started switching on even before the lights went out, and I followed suit. When the main overhead lights DID shut off everyone shot up from their seats and started cheering even before the overture started. (It was a really neat effect, btw - the overheads shutting off and the sea of color-changing penlights)

In the overture and lights and smoke we saw the members begin to rise from a kind of trap door… thing, from different points across the stage. The member closest to us was…. Go! Kamisen all rose on our side (Ken next closest, Okada the furthest) and then Tonisen were on the opposite side (I think Inocchi was nearest from that side, then Sakamoto and Nagano).
What baffled me was that the walkways they rose from (at least the ones on our side, the opposite side was taller) weren’t very tall, so I was like “O_o how long have they been under there?”

Hard to remember many details from here and the exact order, because they did so many fast songs all together to get everyone pumped up (including me) but… they did a fair bit making the rounds and waving to everyone when they weren’t dancing. They also cut some of their choreography out to make more room for walking around and waving, but we still got dance for both will and OK. :D
Break the Wall was exciting! More choreography and it felt like they were really playing up the SP connection, making full use of the laser lights, pyrotechnics and on the big displays over the center stage they had themed animations over the video of V6 of stuff like a radar display and a gun viewfinder tracking Okada.
Crank it up!! was super fun too! There was a funny moment toward the end during the instrumental when the music was building and the center platform began rising and they were all on it and….. the platform got up about 2 feet high and stopped and they all hopped off and sat on it. XD; I was glad that I wasn’t the only one with an “LOL... what?” reaction: that moment even made one of the short news clips the next morning.
And of course up next was the song the tour is titled after: Sexy.Honey.Bunny! Another fun one, especially since we could do the dance along with them (or at least attempt to with a penlight in one hand and an uchiwa in the other…).

After that things slowed down for a bit with the sub-group songs:
Kamisen was up next with 12ヶ月. They started out the song in the lift cranes and basically spent the whole song either up in the cranes or walking from the one they were just in over to the next one, making their way around the arena like that. Go started out in the lift closest to us, and I believe Ken was next followed by Okada.
(I was amazed already at how close we were to the small stage and walkways closest to us, and I was even more amazed at how super-close the members got to us when they were on those lifts!)
Tonisen followed up with days ~ tears of the world. They were up on taller side stage (where the band was located) and made use of trapdoors throughout the song – with the other 2 members disappearing under the stage if only one was singing.
As Tonisen’s song ended and they exited, Go rose up from the center trapdoor of the stage they’d been on – laying down & surrounded by light and fog for his solo 官尾.
They also had the trumpeter standing on one of the platforms with a spotlight throughout the song, liked seeing them make a point of featuring him. Anyway, Go soon made his way to the center stage where he spent most of his song. There were a few light bulbs suspended at different heights (but all low enough to be within his reach) that would light up as he tapped them during the chorus. Then toward the end of the song they would shut off again at the snap of his fingers. Aside from the light bulbs and the light on the trumpeter, the stage was dimly lit which added nicely to the jazzy feel of the piece.
As Go’s solo ended we noticed someone on the long platform on our side of the arena – Nagano for his solo 桜色桜風! The lighting was bright but soft throughout his song, and as he walked along the platform and walkway blowers were on the sides were shooting up light pink petals around him until he reached the center platform where they rained down from the top. Very pretty and peaceful.
After Nagano’s solo was Sakamoto with Happy Happy Birthday. He came out followed shortly by Go and Ken back-up dancing, and then Inocchi and Nagano a bit later. Good perky song to get the audience energized again. During the song they displayed the names of everyone in the audience whose birthday was that day (at some point during this the platform in the center of the stage was rising to look like a giant tiered cake with lit up candles on top) and then Sakamoto approached one lady whose birthday was that day and personally wished her a happy birthday and asked her to blow out the candles on the cake. All in all, a very cute performance and concept.
I… don’t really remember much about New Day, other than Okada had joined everyone by that point. And the harem pants all of Kamisen were wearing by that point. <_<
By the start of Catch, some of the members were still on the center platform and others were out on the further platforms and… I guess some of them were playing catch to start with? I was distracted by Sakamoto and Okada, whom I had the best view of. Okada was one of the ones on the platform in the center (which was raised pretty high) and threw a ball to Sakamoto and….. totally overshot and threw it into the audience beyond Sakamoto. So Sakamoto was looking at him like “What was THAT?” and Okada put his hands together and bobbed his head in apology. XD They were also intentionally throwing the balls into the audience after playing around with them.
For Walk everyone split off into pairs – Inocchi and Go on the center stage, and Sakamoto and Okada, Nagano and Ken off to the sides. They had a bit of footage from the Las Vegas trip up on the overhead screens during the song. Meanwhile on stage Inocchi was sitting one level higher than Go and was draped over him and harassing him…. And I think I remember Ken and Nagano were just sitting back to back. Don’t even remember what Sakamoto and Okada were up to. I had the best view of Inocchi pestering Go so XD

For the MC segment~ the topic was Yokohama Arena. They showed a video montage from the last time they had a concert there and kept laughing while watching the clip. It was full of acrobatics, so of course after the clip ended that led to everyone teasing Sakamoto about getting old, and even picking on Nagano (I presume since his birthday had just been the day before). Then… I can’t remember if it was Sakamoto or Inocchi commenting on the one member who hasn’t aged – Ken. So yeah, the general joking around in regards to age.
From there Inocchi introduced their visiting kouhai – Nino of Arashi! He was up in one of the VIP boxes up and to the left of our seats, so they had a spotlight on him & a staff person armed with a mic for him. We all cheered as he was introduced. I wasn’t able to follow very much of their talk with him, but it seemed like fairly amusing banter. (Of course, a lot of his appearance was covered in the morning news reports that have made their way to the web, so :P) They talked about his connection (or lack therof) to Okada as well as Go. I was amused that Nino kept going back to his seat only to be called back up again and forgetting his mic every time.
After finally letting Nino sit down for real, they went on to show off some of the concert goods and the postcards/stickers that you could get there with the various versions of the single.
They wrapped up the MC by talking bit about their solo projects: Okada’s movie, the encore of Kinkakuji for Go next year as well as the taiga drama he’ll be in next year, and Ken’s upcoming play. I… think that was it before they introduced the VTR.
The VTR showed some of their LA/LV trip, including their time roadtrippin’ in an RV to Vegas and plenty of silliness. I know it’s been said before, but it really reminded me of their old road trips and I hope we get plenty of footage as a bonus with the DVD!

After the VTR they were back for Only Dreaming. Nothing particular to report there, aside from them being classy as expected.
Mission of Love followed! SO much fun. Then next was Medicine~ which was cute.

Following Medicine was Okada’s solo ヨロコビノウタ, and I really don’t remember a thing about it other than that I was just enchanted throughout the whole thing. I have to confess that it’s a solo I hadn’t listened to much previously, but there I was 100% attentive. Oh! One bit I do remember was that at some point… I think maybe about midway through the song a light fixture that had been up between the screens over the center stage lowered down and… I’m not sure how to describe it exactly, but it was a bunch of strands of over the center stage (and if I’m remembering correctly it stayed down, but maybe changed slightly for Inocchi’s solo).
As Okada’s song was wrapping up Inocchi appeared on the raised platform on the center stage armed with guitar and harmonica (it was in one of those holders in front of his face, I have no idea how to describe it but I trust you know what the heck I’m talking about). Okada and Inocchi joked around a little between solos but I didn’t really catch much of it. Okada left and Inocchi started 遠いところまで. He had 4 mics set up in a circle around him facing different directions, so he would occasionally switch from one to the next throughout the song. At first I wondered why he didn’t just have the platform rotate, but this was definitely better! I don’t know how to explain exactly, but it really fit the pace and style of the song more than moving constantly would have. But yes, he was playing the guitar part throughout his solo, and played the harmonica part near the end.
Ken appeared on the band-side stage for my favorite of the Ready? solos: 悲しいほどに ア・イ・ド・ル” ~ガラスの靴~ and did the bit where he sets down a glass slipper on a platform and covers it with a velvet cloth. He had on bright neon sneakers – one pink and one yellow with a pink shirt & the rest of his outfit was black. His performance made good use of black lights to make the shoes & shirt stand out even more than they already did. The black light + neon shoes were a really fun effect with his dancing.

After Ken’s solo they had a nice tribute/roll-call featuring each member and their solo. A bit of the instrumental for each solo was played while video of the solo played on the screens and the member (whose solo was up) rose from a trapdoor on the band-side stage & was lit up in their member color. They each stayed up as it moved on to the next member and it went in the order the solos were performed so by the end everyone was lined up from Go to Ken.

You Know started with a bang! Pyrotechnics, streamers, and lots of energy~!
For Air they were all up on the raised platform in the center stage, this time with a sheer curtain around them that had projects on it throughout the piece (like they’ve done previously with 強くなれ in the Ready? tour and Are You Ready Tonight? in We Are Coming Century Boys).
Following Air was the highly-anticipated Supernova! Everything about this song/performance was HOT. Mmmm~ I have no words to do it justice, but hopefully we won’t have to wait long for the DVD release… They stayed on the center stage, and the poles were spread around it. The highlight of the choreography would definitely be when they were all in the center and took a running jump at the poles and swung around them. Yep, that’s the moment you hear the especially loud reaction from the audience in the fan recordings. XD
Guilty followed, which was rather exciting for me – that was the first single they released after I got bit by the V6 bug. Plus of course, we all know how classy that dance is.
The last two songs after Guilty were 逢いたくて and 明日の傘 and I have to apologize that my memory is particularly foggy on these two and through the encore because the concert was about over and I was in denial about it being nearly over + I was beyond sensory overload at that point. AND NAGANO SAW US. Yup. I *think* it was during 逢いたくて, (that or it was during the encore, my friend and I honestly couldn’t remember between the two of us b/c the ending all mostly blended together)…. they were up on those lifts again, and this time Nagano was one of the ones to use the lift nearest to us – he was singing and waving with his other hand and looking out at everyone and saw us. XD He didn’t noticeably react or anything, so I thought I was just imagining things until after the concert beachbum commented aloud that he “totally saw us” so YAY! Of course, with our homemade USA uchiwa and her being blonde (and me being, I swear, one of the only attendees there holding his uchiwa) I suppose we did stand out a bit. ^_^;

Of course they gave their bows, thank-yous, and good byes and as soon as they vanished we started up the chant for an encore.
They came out after changing to colored suits, and Ken was the only one in the panda shirt (and his raccoon hat). The encore was the same medley as the other concerts (I believe) – starting with グッデイ!! and quickly moving through 本気がいっぱい, Darling, COSMIC RESCUE, 愛なんだ and HONEY BEAT. I wish they’d spent at least a little longer on them, but I guess that’s what I get for attending a con where they put the focus on songs they don’t get to perform often. :P
They closed with performing Sexy.Honey.Bunny! again, and Inocchi did the kick-off “Sexy!”

Everyone made their way off-stage except for Ken, who blew us a kiss before disappearing himself.

Hey gang! My application to lead a JE panel at Tekkoshocon has been accepted!!

My plan is to “give a brief introduction and history of the company and their groups, explaining their overwhelming presence in Japanese and Asian media.” I intend to do this especially through examples that anime convention attenders are more likely to have some familiarity with already.

In order to do this, I’m working to compile a list of anime, manga, and tokusatsu connections to Johnny’s groups & individual members. This includes live drama adaptations of manga, voice acting for anime, op/ed theme songs, etc! Also, if you know of a series released in America that regularly refers to Johnny’s, a particular group, etc (for example: Honey Hunt) please list those as well! I’m also going to list mainstream releases in America with JE connections (ie Letters from Iwo Jima) so please help with those as well!

I’m leaving this post unlocked, so if you know of anyone else who could help please send them this way!

Thanks in advance~
